Amidst the oldest forest of Flevoland at 300 metres from the Veluwe lakes, Hans and Greke really offer everyone the space they need on their attractive, back-to-nature campsite.
Our former Dutch forestry commission campsite is set in almost 6 hectares and has approximately 100 pitches. Those seeking peace and quiet will find beautiful pitches tucked away in the woods, but there are also open fields with playground equipment in the middle.
The Dutch automobile association ANWB has declared us to fall into their category of ‘Charming Campsite’ and given us the predicate: “extremely quiet location”. Here, you are gently awoken by birdsong. You can feel one with nature whilst having every luxury within reach.
There is a lot do in the vicinity. The delightful towns of Elburg, Harderwijk and Kampen are nearby as are the lovely sandy beaches of the Veluwe lakes. Other nearby destinations for a great day out are the Dolfinarium marine aquarium, Walibi theme park, the Aviodrome aviation museum and fashion outlet centre Bataviastad.
Campsite De Ruimte is suitable for everyone: all buildings have been modified making them fully accessible for people with a disability. We have all conceivable amenities and it goes without saying that our recreation team take all children into account.
While one person may go on a bicycle ride to explore the mediaeval town of Elburg, the other may stay behind and enjoy a book in the peace and quiet. Meanwhile, the recreation team may be teaching the children how to make their own bread on a campfire.
In this way everybody in their own way is doing exactly the same: enjoying a holiday! Come dinnertime some may sit down and enjoy a delicious meal on the friendly terrace by the cafe while others may be busy preparing a barbecue by the tent. Sometimes life is delicious!
